Rebranding

This year Rask underwent a major rebrand. Rask has several websites and offerings that were previously kept separate. We wanted to bring everything together to create a finance hub/network where any ‘Rask’ brand or product is recognisable and carries the Rask personality (a heavy focus on education and approachability). The sub-brands could still have their own identity – but they visually fit together, they all use the same colours, typography and visual style.

 

 

The websites

I created a header and footer that is consistent across all the sites as a master/network menu – using logos, icons and colour in a top bar navigation. No matter what site or page a user was on, they could easily navigate to one of our other sites or services. It also meant brand recognition – the user would know that they were in a ‘Rask’ site no matter how they got there – and it was also successful in informing them about our other offerings. Not only was this a user-friendly UX solution, but it built brand consistency and helped our rebranded sites to feel like they were part of the same network.

 

 

Podcast disclaimer/brand intro

Videography, video editing, animation, storyboarding

Our podcast episodes were filmed and made available in video format as well as audio. Legally the disclaimer was really important and we had to have it at the start of the interviews. Rather than slipping in a boring type screen – we wanted to use it as a branding exercise, to show personality and set ourselves apart from typical finance and investing channels. We set out for a day filming in Melbourne – this was the result:

Rask Australia

Rask Australia is an online finance and investing company, their mission is to give everyone access to the best financial information, education, advice, news and analysis possible.

I worked with Rask from inception as head of design on a variety of digital projects. Under the main brand were 4 successful sub-brands (each with their own website) and two popular podcasts - I was responsible for all of the visual communications and UX associated with them. The main focus was to create communications and platforms that were engaging, friendly, fast, and trustworthy - making finance and investing information easy to consume.
